By selecting the filter base you can determine whether a filter should filter by a company, a visit or a single value.
When does it make sense to change the filter base?
Changing the filter base is useful when you want to extend the effect of a filter to an entire company, or narrow it down to a single measurement value.
How to change the filter base of a filter?
You can change the filter base within the filter settings by clicking on the bottom filter base icon and selecting the desired base.
Examples
Visit based vs. company based in the company overview
Example: Filter | Exclude | Page = Contact form
A visit-based filter excludes all visits, while the company-based filter excludes all companies that have accessed the “Contact form” page.
Visit-based vs. click-based in usage analysis
Example: Filter | Include | Page = Contact form
A visit-based filter displays all pages in the usage analysis that were visited during the visits with the page in the visit history.
A click-based filter outputs only the values of the filtered page and ignores the rest of the pages from the visits.
